The Center For Excellence is an initiative of the Illinois Association for the Education
of Young Children dedicated to improving the quality of child care and early childhood programs in Illinois.
The initiative uses an integrated and multi-level approach to accomplish its goals that includes overview
information, technical assistance and resources, training, online tools, and Illinois AEYC's Statewide
Accreditation Mentoring program that includes program improvement cohorts, individual mentoring and onsite
consultation. Programs and services are available to child care/early education programs in center-based
settings. The initiative supports both NAEYC and NAC accreditation as well as the state of Illinois' QRIS
standards.
